    As someone who didn’t know how to crochet a few weeks ago, I took the dive and purchased this pattern as the first thing to learn with. The directions are well written and the terminology is easy to follow. I was able to make a bottle with the first go around and see improvements with each new one I start. If you have never picked up a crochet hook before, don’t be intimidated! This pattern is great for a determined beginner!

    Amazing pattern! I haven’t finished my first one yet, but I’m a good way through it, and it’s coming out amazing! It’s not a hard pattern to read at all, but it is a bit bigger than I expected, which isn’t really a bad thing.

Q & A

I'm new to crochet but I really want to make a few of these for my D&D party. How do you suggest making the round portion of the bottle bigger? Lemon asked on July 24, 2024

The pattern is already designed to hold d20s, but if your chosen yarn or your tension are making a smaller bottle than you'd like, I suggest a couple of things. 1) Use a combination of an extra strand of yarn and a larger hook, or 2) Just use a 0.5mm larger hook.

You may find that using just a larger hook by itself will result in a bottle that doesn't stand up on its own very well, though. Just be aware of that!
